National Sports Week 22nd June-26th June 2015
What a week! The pupils at William Bellamy started National Sports Week off with the Young Sports Leaders from years 3-6 delivering various of activities to Nursery and Reception children. Year 6 pupils participated in Archery sessions which were fantastic. On Tuesday and Wednesday over 1000 of our pupils joined in with the Golden Mile, many children and staff really challenged themselves while others had an old fashioned sports day, trying the egg and spoon, bean bag on head and the fancy dress race. Wednesday was also Paralympic day for SEB and Oasis, the children played seated boccia, goalball, kurling and seated target throwing. Thursday was the International Olympic Competition Day, the colours of the children's countries and the effort made to win was amazing. The week was ended with a closing ceremony were all the children paraded their flags, hats and banners. Take a look at our fantastic photos. Well done to all the staff and pupils for making the week such a success.
